International General Certificate of Secondary Education, popularly known as the IGCSE, is a programme that prepares the student for further study in the university wherever they are in the world.

At first, this school started with just the kindergarten and primary level, then parents expressed their concerns and interest in their students studying further in the school, leading to the establishment of the secondary school. 2. German School Nairobi
The German School Nairobi was established in 1969, this school was established as a result of German expatriates living in Kenya and as a means for their children to go to school. Its curriculum follows the German system of education Kultusministerkonferenz-KMK (The Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Lander in the Federal Republic of Germany). This school teaches with a difference and observes German national holidays in the school and the Kenya national holidays as well.

This school is split into three which encompasses hillcrest early years, hillcrest preparatory schools and hillcrest secondary school. They have some of the best facilities which are needed to make the learning process of the students easier, the sixth form has up to 60-75 students a year and those of them continue to universities in the UK, Canada and the United States. This is a private co-educational school in Kenya that teaches using the British curriculum; this school offers education to children from age 3 to 18 years of age. It was established in 1968 and at then it was called the Braeburn House International School now it has developed into the best performing igcse school in Kenya. This school has over 300 students and it is well equipped with the necessary facilities that are needed which include; laboratory, sports facilities and equipment, swimming pool, computer lab and it boasts of having sixteen (16) schools that are spread in nine (9) campuses.
5. Brookhouse School
Brookhouse School was established in 1981 and since then it has been one of the top international schools with a British curriculum. This school follows the British National Curriculum and students are examined by the Edxcel board and Cambridge International Examinations. Brookhouse School has various facilities for its students to aid the learning process and they are good at sports as well, they aim to develop every child to reach its full potential.
6. International School of Kenya
This is a private non-profit school that is open to students from pre-kindergarten to grade 12. It was established in 1976 and since then it has opened its doors and hearts to students and parents that wish to enrol their children in the school. This school uses the North American/The International Baccalaureate; they give students who attend various options like being able to study a North American high school diploma or for an International Baccalaureate Diploma. This school has various facilities and it is regarded as a member of the Association of International Schools in Africa.
7. Lycee Denis Diderot (French School)
This school is popularly known as the French school in Nairobi and it was established in 1962, since then it has been regarded as the French international school in Kenya and it operates under the rules that are set from the French ministry of foreign affairs in line with the agency of teaching French abroad.
8. Svenska Skolan I Nairobi (Swedish School)
The Svenska Skolan I Nairobi is a Swedish school and most students applying for this school are from Scandinavian countries. They teach them in their home language and various other languages that they need to learn.
9. Nairobi Japanese School
This is a school that serves Japanese expatriate students, it was established in 1967 and it has developed was developed from volunteer teaching services held at the Embassy of Japan.
