ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING COURSES IN KENYA REQUIREMENTS

Studying a competitive course like Electrical Engineering you can take either a degree course, a certificate course, or a master’s course, this should let you know that each of these courses has its own various requirements. Applying for an electrical engineering course, each institution comes out with its own requirements, but the requirements stated below are the basic ones needed so you can easily secure admission into the institution you are going for. 

  • Certificate Course, you will need the following requirements; You will need a minimum of KCSE D plain result; you should know that studying for a certificate course for electrical engineering is on duration of two (2) years. 
  • For a diploma course, you will need the following requirements; A minimum of KCSE result C + (plus) will be needed from you and this course will be on duration of three (3) years. In the MKU, the requirements are KCSE C (plain) with a C – (minus) in mathematics, physics, or English or a KCSE C – (minus) with a certificate in a relevant field that lasts for 3 years. In MMUST you will need a mean grade of C + (plus) in mathematics, physics or physical sciences and the course takes up to five (5) years. 
  • To pursue a degree program you will need the following requirements; you should know that the degree program is broken down into three different requirements and you can easily see the one that fits your description. Once you are enrolled for a degree program for engineering you will need a total of six years to complete it. 
  1. Mathematics B + (plus), chemistry B (plain), English (B) minus, and physics (B) + plus
  2. Mathematics B + (plus), English B – (minus) and Physical sciences (B) + plus
  3. You can also apply if you have a certificate in national diploma holders in engineering from any recognized polytechnics in Kenya. 

ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING COURSES IN KENYA FEES

Due to the amount of knowledge that is needed to study an engineering course, it often takes you a longer duration of time. It is known as one of the courses that long duration. To study a course like this in the institution you will spend about KSH 25,000 to KSH 50,000 for tuition fees alone, other expenses can come in later.
