HOME CARE COURSES IN KENYA REQUIREMENTS 

The home care courses in Kenya have some requirements that are attached to it. This course teaches you everything needed on how to be a good caregiver and they would not just want to admit anybody they see into the various schools they teach these courses. The same procedures you use in applying for other courses, same procedures are also needed for this course. you will need a minimum of your Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and above to be able to apply for this course. this course takes a few months to study and then you can apply for certain jobs in different places.

Generally, caregivers are being registered in several agencies and many caregivers you see today are recommended by different agencies as they are able to access them, and know their strengths and homes that they are fit for. Several agencies tend to demand personal information about these caregivers for security purposes or in the case of life-threatening situations. There are four types of caregivers we have; home health care assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and adult daycare centers. These types of caregivers are recommended according to what a client or a company wants.

One of the cheapest courses to study in Kenya is the home care course. This is a course that charges low to nothing and it has a shorter time frame to finish. Application for this course is not difficult and getting a certificate is quite easy. Studying a home care course in Kenya will cost you about KSH 5,000 for tuition and a host of other fees I guess. The numbers of schools offering home care courses in Kenya are few and they charge fewer amounts due to the fact that not many aspirants are not applying for this course. 

IS HOME CARE COURSE A MARKETABLE COURSE IN KENYA

In terms of marketability, a home care house is not really marketable in Kenya except if you are looking to broaden your horizon by working internationally. Home care jobs are known to be more marketable outside Kenya as their services are much needed and their pay is reasonable. One of the advantages or one skill needed to be a top-notch caregiver is the ability to be fluent in multiple languages this is because there are not lots of persons that might understand English especially when you decide to work outside your home country. 

Home care is not a difficult course to study but it is one of those courses that it is difficult to implement. Home caregivers are trained in so many ways as they interact and come with humans on a daily basis, they take care of both the old and young and this is not a very easy job to come across. In Kenya, home care jobs are not really paid very well so fewer people apply for this course and this is one of the reasons you have fewer schools offering this course. there are three (3) major jobs of a caregiver and they are; bathing and grooming, dressing, toileting, and exercise. Caregivers also carry out other basic home duties like general health care, basic food preparation, shopping, housekeeping, and others. 

Caregivers who are majorly in charge of infants are given more training than others, this is because infants are difficult to care for and there are so many stages involved in their growth process that one would love to learn. There are so many specialized stages or subjects that involve home care for infants and they are; different stages of normal growth and development, basic infant care, signs of infant/toddlers distress, picking up and cuddling procedures, procedures in taking vital signs, procedures in bathing and dressing of infants, produces in undressing of infants. All of this is being taught in terms of home care for infants because proper care and attention are needed when taking care of infants/toddlers. 

It is necessary after studying this course you register with an agency as this will help you in getting a job easily, not just that registering with an agency also gives you options of reviewing jobs before you go for them as well on your behalf an agency might even negotiate on a good payment salary structure for you.
