Fewer universities offer this course in Kenya, this is why you need the requirements that will be asked from you to provide before you will be allowed to be part of the institution.

Requirements to study Geospatial Engineering in Kenya

Before studying a course in Kenya, there are so many requirements that are needed from you that are applying and you will have to meet some of these requirements before any institutions in Kenya will consider you capable of being able to study this course.

  • A minimum KCSE Mean Grade C or KCE Division III plus an ordinary/ Higher Diploma in Land Surveying / Cartography/ Photogrammetry. KACE or IGSCE/GCE – A-level or equivalent with 2 principal passes in Mathematics and Geography.
  • A minimum of the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Examination (KCSE) mean grade is C+, with C+ in Mathematics, Physics, Geography/Biology/Chemistry.
  • KACE or IGSCE/GCE – A-level or equivalent with 2 principal passes in Mathematics and Geography.

Roles of a Geospatial Engineer

  • Communicating with clients to gather information about site conditions and design requirements.
  • Creating maps, charts, and other visual representations of data for use by the public, government agencies, or other companies.
  • Preparing feasibility studies to determine if a project can be successfully implemented.
  • Analyzing data to identify patterns in natural resources and the environment.
  • Overseeing the installation of equipment such as surveying instruments and GPS devices on vehicles or in remote locations.
