A levels are internationally recognized qualifications that are required for entry into many universities, courses and professional training. A level typically helps one get a spot in a university at home or overseas. There are so many A-level schools in Kenya and choosing the best to attend might be a bit difficult.

Studying in A level school is good, but attending the top A-level school is advantageous. Many of these schools are privately owned and when other schools are on strike they are not been affected, this means you can carry out your lectures accordingly.

1. Hillcrest International School

Hillcrest International School is a British privately owned day and boarding school in Kenya, it was established in 1965 as a preschool and since then it has grown to be one of the top a level schools in Kenya. this school caters for international, professional and local business communities, it admits students from their early years into secondary school years which many of them finish and gain admission into universities in the United States, Europe, and South Africa. The staff are recruited from Britain and it has about 440 students. 

2. Braeburn Schools

Braeburn Schools was founded in 1979 and is an international private-owned school that operates nine campuses throughout Kenya and Tanzania. This school offers bridging courses from Kenya KCSE to international A-level courses and other related courses and they offer courses in teachers’ training. This school is known for having good teaching quality and staff across the country and their system of education is top-notch, they offer other courses and they admit students from a young age into their teen levels. 

3. Brookhouse School

This school was open in 2017 and ever since then it has become a centre of excellence. It runs an independent British curriculum that offers co-educational day and boarding school from the early years, preparatory and secondary schooling. Students between the age of 16-18 take the examination through both the Cambridge International Examinations and Edexcel Boards. This school offers large programs of extracurricular activities which include sports and trips, they offer bridging courses in partnership with the Northern Consortium of UK Universities.

This is an international school meant for pre-kindergarten to age 12; this school was founded in 1976 and is built on a 25-hectare of land located in Nairobi, Kenya. The school is divided into three which are the elementary school, the middle school and the high school, each school has its principal and counsellors and teaching staff, though some subjects share teaching staff. The school has so many facilities that are meant for recreation and help to aid the teaching and learning of the students in the school.

5. Peponi School

Peponi School is a day and boarding school in Kenya that offers teaching for children between the ages of 2-18 years old. The school provides an outstanding education for its pupils and students including those with special education needs and disabilities. Peponi School is known to have an outstanding curriculum and a very good teaching staff that has good subject knowledge to make sure that students reach or exceed their predicted targets. 6. Svenska Skolan I Nairobi (Swedish School)

This is a Swedish School that is located in Nairobi, Kenya. This school is very unique, it has a preschool, primary school and then three different high schools, it also offers boarding school options to those that would want to exchange a year of high school. This school offers lots of activities and their curriculum is one of the best as they have good teaching staff and students from different parts of the world. 

7. Rosslyn Academy

This is a private Christian international school with a North American curriculum and they have classes from preschool to the twelfth grade. They have a limited number of enrolment for this school with a maximum number of graduates which is about 60. The majority of the teachers are North American with an average class size of 20 students. This school is known for fine arts and sports programs as they have merged to be one of the best in Kenya. 

8. The Banda School

This is a top British performing school in Nairobi, Kenya. this school uses the British curriculum for its students and ensures they have some of the best experiences while learning. It is an independent co-educational school for boys and girls in the age range of 2-13 years. 

9. German School Nairobi

The German International School Nairobi was founded in 1979 and there are students from over 20 countries in the school. The school offers various teachings and extracurricular activities that help the students in learning. They are known to have a good teaching staff and one of the best methods of teaching. 

10. Nairobi Japanese School

The Nairobi Japanese School serves Japanese expatriate students in Kenya, it was founded in 1970 and it originated from volunteer teaching duties from the Japanese embassy in Nairobi. The class sizes in this school are not big due to the limited population they have in the school, they teach English in this school and they were able to adopt some of the British curricula in teaching the students over there. The majority of the students left during form two or three in the school and this was the duration of their father’s employment in Kenya and most students lived in the riverside housing development.
